I am sad to report that we have lost another classmate.....Cathy Holmes.
Catherine Holmes, 68, of Williamstown, WV died peacefully at home under the loving care of Amedisys Hospice after a courageous thirteen and a half year battle with cancer. She crossed over the Rainbow Bridge where all her pets met her and they entered Heaven together. She was born in Wheeling, WV a daughter of the late W. Richard and Betty (Coil) Holmes.
She graduated from Triadelphia High School in 1966 and attended West Liberty University. She loved all animals; especially dogs. She also loved working in her flower beds.
She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years and caregiver Bruce Holmes; daughter Anne Shisler of Frisco, NC; grandson J. Gilliam Shisler of Frisco; father and mother-in-law Walter and Carol Holmes of Clearwater, FL; sister-in-law Louise Hall (Edward) of Wheeling, FL; special friends Betty and Fred Shreve; and her constant companion Sophie.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law M. Jean Holmes and sister-in-law Lynn Holmes
Services will be Thursday 10:00 AM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Elizabeth Campbell Maleke officiating. Inurnment will be at Eastlawn Cemetery in Marietta, OH. Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers Cathy requested that memorial contributions be made to Humane Society of Parkersburg, PO Box 392, Parkersburg WV 26102-0392
The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Leavitt, Dr. Nik Shah, Dr. Michael Galloway, Dr. Rammy Gold, Dr. Terry Shank, and all the staff at Camden Clark Memorial Center for the excellent care and love they've shown to her.
